Public Works
The Public Works Department is divided into four major service divisions:
Administrative Services Division

Facilities Maintenance Division
This division maintains city parks, the RV campground, city buildings and public property. It also does reconstruction projects on city streets including installation of curb, guttering and drains. The division maintains city streets and right-of-ways. Each spring (April) and fall (November), facilities maintenance conducts a citywide cleanup free of charge for residents where city trucks pick up large items such as appliances, mattresses, furniture, and brush and tree limbs.
Recycling Division
Recycle Center: Public works operates a recycle drop-off center located at 601 Compton Drive that accepts steel and aluminum cans, plastics, glass, paper, cardboard, magazines, newspapers, motor oil and electronics. The recycle center also accepts household hazardous waste like automotive products, pesticides and other old or contaminated chemicals. Call (417) 337-8566 for information.
Hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday, 8am - 12pm, and Thursdays 4-6pm
Water and Sewer Division
Branson owns and operates two water treatment plants and two wastewater treatment plants that are staffed 24/7. The two water plants produce over one billion gallons of safe drinking water a year. In addition to assuring that all state and federal standards are met for water and wastewater treatment, this division is also responsible for all sewer and water connections around the city.
