Legal Department

Administrative Services Division:
The Legal Department - Administrative Services Division, advises and counsels the Mayor, Board of Aldermen and the City Administrator on all matters of City Business; reviews and approves all contracts and agreements between the City and other parties; drafts and prepares all ordinances and resolutions to be enacted by the Board of Aldermen; prepares legal opinions; and provides legal counsel and support to all departments within the City of Branson.

Prosecutor:
The Legal Department - Prosecutor, represents the City in all legal actions pertaining to the prosecution of City ordinance and code violations in municipal court; contacts and involves both witnesses and victims in the court process; and pursues prosecutions through the trial and appellate process.

Civil Litigation Division:
The Legal Department - Civil Litigation Division, represents the City before all state and federal courts and administrative agencies; investigates and makes recommendations on all claims for damages; and provides legal counsel and manages litigation against the City through outside counsel.
