Mission Statement: The city of Branson is committed to its citizens and to
those who visit here, to ensure a safe and environmentally sound
community. We will work as a team to maintain and promote the
growth of our city and to provide professional, courteous
service to all through fair and open communication. We look
to tomorrow, remembering yesterday, dedicated to excellence
today.
Branson, located in
Taney County, operates
under the Council/Administrator form of government. The
governing body consists of six Board of Aldermen elected from
three wards and a Mayor elected at-large. The Mayor and Board
of Aldermen serve two-year terms, and elections are held each
April.
The Board of Aldermen is the legislative body of government that passes the ordinances
and approves contracts that manage and regulate our city.
The City
Administrator is the city's chief executive officer. Hired by
the Board of Aldermen, the city administrator is responsible to
the Board for proper administration and management of the
government business, officers and employees of the city.
Board of Aldermen business meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday of
each month at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Branson City
Hall, 110 West Maddux. Citizens are encouraged to attend all
business meetings of the Board of Aldermen and speak on any agenda item. The Board also provides a public comment forum
immediately following its business meeting where citizens may
speak on any subject related to city business.
The Board of Aldermen
established a contingency fund of the city's tourism tax
marketing revenues to fund special activities that bring more
visitors to Branson. To apply for this funding, click here: Application for Tourism Tax Contingency Funds
