Branson Fire Department Names 2018 Firefighter of the Year

Firefighter of the year 2018

The Branson Fire Department honored the Department’s hard work throughout 2018 and named Firefighter of the Year at its annual banquet on January 12, 2019.

In 2018, the Branson Fire Department responded to 4,868 fire-rescue incidents, an increase of 440 incidents over 2017. Branson also saw an extremely low fire-loss rate in 2018 for a community of our size. Branson had a fire-loss of $184,035, of which $29,000 is attributed to vehicle fires. The Department was also recognized by the Taney County Ambulance District (TCAD) for its work in Hands-only CPR training for the community.

Heath Hudson was named the Branson Fire Department’s 2018 Firefighter of the Year for his work over the years organizing the Scott Firefighter’s Challenge along with his passion and motivation to make the Department and the community better. Nathanael Jones was named the 2018 Engineer of the Year for his dedication, work ethic and quality of work. Captain Kelly Eidson was named the 2018 Captain of the Year for his work as project manager of the remodel of the City’s Emergency Operations Center that saved the Department thousands of dollars. Also awarded:

  • Captain Clark Bogle - Training Division Award
  • Captain Jason Bruck - Technical Services Division Award
  • Firefighter Bryan Hutchins - Operations Division Award
  • Firefighter Chris Ely - Fully Involved Award

“We had an extremely successful year and have a lot to look forward to in 2019,” said Branson Fire Chief Ted Martin. “While we recognize these seven people, our success is a team effort by a crew that is ‘fully involved’ in working hard and serving our community,” Martin said.
