On December 4, 2018, the Branson Police Department received a report of threats of future violence toward the Branson High School. Officers immediately launched an investigation and quickly located, identified and interviewed the suspect.
The suspect, who is a current student at Branson High School, was arrested without incident in Kirbyville, Missouri for making a terroristic threat. There were no weapons found. Charges will be sought through the Taney County Prosecutor’s Office. There are no indications of involvement by additional people. Detectives are continuing the investigation.
The Branson Police Department continues to work closely with the Branson School District as school safety is among the highest priorities for both organizations. The police department takes all threats seriously and is committed to allocating all necessary resources to ensure the safety and security of students and the community.
Police ensure there is no current threat to the safety of students and will be doing extra patrols near all Branson Public Schools today to make students and parents feel safe.
