Firefighters Battle Early Morning Structure Fire at Lilly’s Landing

Lillys Landing Fire 2

Branson Firefighters responded to a report of a commercial structure fire at Lilly’s Landing on River Lane just after 6 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018.  The fire was contained to the building that housed the resort laundry facilities that is attached to a guest cabin. The cabin was vacant at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.

When crews arrived, they reported smoke and flames coming out of the resorts commercial laundry building. Fire crews were able to get the fire out quickly and keep the fire contained to the building.

Damage estimates are not yet available. Besides the Branson Fire Department, the Branson Police Department, Western Taney County Fire Protection District, Taney County Ambulance District and White River Electric all were on scene.

While the cause of this particular fire has not been determined, fire officials would like to take this opportunity to remind residents to regularly clean out the vents of their dryers.

Take these steps to prevent a dryer fire:

  • Be sure that the correct electrical plug and outlet are used
  • Clean the dryer lint filter before and after each load of laundry
  • Completely clean lint out of the vent pipe every three (3) months
  • Check occasionally through the venting system behind the dryer to ensure it isn’t damaged
