Branson Fire Rescue will open their doors to the public Saturday, October 28, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. by hosting a “Community Risk Reduction” open house at all three fire stations. The public is invited to visit the fire stations with Fire Station #1 located at 1103 West Highway 76, Fire Station #2 at 251 Branson Meadows Drive, and Fire Station #3 at 3500 Keeter Street. There will be educational activities for all ages with a focus on “Community Risk Reduction” as visitors learn more about reducing risk in the home and business. This includes fire safety topics on the three top causes of fires including Electrical, Heating, and Cooking fires. Visitors will be able to try on fire gear, learn about the fire/rescue equipment on the fire trucks, learn basic first aid skills, and get their blood pressure checked all for free!“The firefighters will focus on the same Community Risk Reduction topics, but each fire station has their own uniqueness,” stated Fire Chief Ted Martin. Fire Station #1 houses the fire administration offices, an Engine Company and has an authentic fire pole that the public can watch the firefighters slide down. Fire Station #2 houses the 105’ Ladder Truck, Hazardous Materials response truck, and kids can tour the Fire Safety House. Fire Station #3 houses the newest Fire Engine, a Water Tender, and is also home to the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) trailer and equipment.“Opening our fire stations to our residents allows us to be more involved in the community and for these folks to meet their firefighters,” stated Fire Captain Clark Bogle. “We are excited to open our doors for a Saturday afternoon for residents to see our facilities and equipment, to offer tips to keep your home and business fire-safe, and for the firefighters to serve up some cookies and drinks,” added Bogle. For more information, contact Branson Fire Rescue at (417) 243-2780 or find the department on Facebook at Branson MO Fire-Rescue.
