City of Branson Mayor Karen Best will be hosting the 2016 Southwest Missouri Regional ‘Lights On Afterschool Summit’ on Friday, October 21 at Ballparks of America in Branson.
Mayor Best invites the public to join elected officials from across the State of Missouri for a celebration to highlight success in the out-of-school time field and to discuss the work needed to create more opportunities and better outcomes for youth across southwest Missouri.
The event will be held from 10:30AM-1:00PM at the Ballparks of America campus located at 1000 Pat Nash Drive, Branson, Missouri (formerly the Red Roof Mall). Lunch will be provided as special guest speakers discuss the advantages to developing and implementing afterschool programs to help students remain engaged in meaningful activities that nurture productive citizens in their futures.
In collaboration with the Missouri AfterSchool Network, Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks, and local business leaders, parents and law enforcement officials, attendees will hear from experts from Joplin, Springfield, and National League of Cities about the importance of such programs and their success. Representatives will also share opportunities to become engaged in existing and emerging programs for kids of all ages across southwest Missouri.Interested parties may register for this event at: http://bit.ly/2ddD1hx
