MEDIA UPDATE: Fire Destroys Home Under Renovation Overnight in Branson’s Pointe Royale Subdivision
Branson, MO – The Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in Pointe Royale last night at 11:02 pm. A neighbor called Pointe Royale security shack to report a home was on fire at 314 Sherwood Drive who then placed a call to 9-1-1 requesting the Branson Fire Department. A police officer arrived on the scene and reported the south end of the home was well involved in flames. The first engine arrived on the scene from Fire Station 3 and reported heavy fire involvement that had spread into the roof.
The Branson Fire Department responded with two engines, a ladder truck, three chief officers and a mutual aid engine from Western Taney County Fire Protection District. A TCAD unit was also on the scene for stand-by.
The home was not occupied at the time of the fire. A neighbor reported a loud bang and, upon investigation, discovered the fire at the Sherwood Drive home. The home had minor, cosmetic remodeling completed earlier yesterday in preparation for the owners to reoccupy their home. The home received substantial damage from fire, smoke and water. An initial look into the cause of the fire shows heavy fire damage near the electrical panel / meter base on the south side of the home at the garage wall.
Heavy thunderstorms had rolled through the area prior to the fire with a lot of lighting. Investigation continues this morning as to the cause of the fire.
