You Are Invited! Join the City of Branson, Great River Engineering, downtown businesses and other community stakeholders to an open discussion about the options, recommendations and plans for Phase III of the Historic Downtown Streetscape construction project on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. in city council chambers at 110 West Maddux, Branson, MO.
We welcome the voice of downtown businesses to ensure we meet the needs and preferences shared in the 2015 Community and Business Surveys, and to align our efforts with the Community Plan 2030 to create a vibrant engaging downtown district for visitors and residents to enjoy so that businesses thrive for many years to come!
BACKGROUND: At the study session held on Thursday, June 9th, Great River Engineering provided details on their analysis of the owner surveys and based on the additional data, suggested that a way to meet the stated desires of the surveys was to change or eliminate on-street parking on Commercial Street and Main Street. There was also discussion of a multi-story parking garage over the Awbery Parking Lot. City Council has tasked Great River Engineering to gain additional input from downtown business owners and property owners. At this meeting Great River will update the public on progress on the project to date, give a summary of the results of the business/property owner survey, and provide an opportunity for public input on the idea of changing or eliminating on-street parking in the Historic Downtown Phase III project area.
